Shabbat Shalom! This week we will read Parashat Chukkat. In Chukkat, a number of things happen. First, God instructs Moses and Aaron regarding the red heifer; It is in this parasha where Moses hits a rock to bring forth water rather than speaking to it. And sadly, it is in this parasha where both Miriam and Aaron pass away.

Thought Question: In this week's parasha Moses strikes the rock to get water to come out, instead of speaking to it, as commanded. His punishment is that he won't be able to enter the land of Israel. This seems like a harsh punishment for a seemingly small mistake-what do you think? Should Moses be held to a higher standard of leadership than others?

Friday night services are at 6:15 pm. Shabbat morning services are at 9:15 am. Candle lighting is at 8:06 pm pm
