Hunter Gold, Executive Director

Hunter joins Sutton Place Synagogue as he returns to the Jewish Communal sector after owning a summer camp the last 5 years with his wife. Prior to that, he served as the EVP of Capital Camps and Retreat Center, a JCC agency for 12 years, which he joined after almost a decade in the private finance sector, inclduing time at both Disney and Universal Studios. He has been active in both professional and lay leadership roles in several Jewish organizations including USY, AEPi, BBYO, JFGW and JCCGW. Hunter has his accounting degree from the University of Florida and his MBA from UCF.

Harriet Janover, Director, Programming and Member Services

Our congregation benefited from Harriet’s talented and dedicated service as Executive Director for nearly 30 years, during which she played a major role in the extraordinary growth that helped Sutton Place Synagogue evolve into the major Jewish institution it is today. Harriet’s vitality, creativity and people skills are characteristics that make her ideally suited for her current role as Director of Programming and Member Services.

Alyssa Schwager

Alyssa Schwager, Director of Education and Engagement

Having completed an MA in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary with a focus on Israel Education and Jewish Leadership and an MA in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut, with a concentration in Gifted and Talented Education, Alyssa brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our community.

Lindsay Bennett

Lindsay Bennett, Director, Kaplan Nursery School

Lindsay returned to the SPS community in August 2015, as Director of the Kaplan Nursery School. She is a graduate of NYU, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She later earned a Master’s degree in Infant/Parent Development & Early Intervention, and dual certification in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Bank Street College of Education. After 10 years away, in the field of Early Childhood Education Administration, Lindsay is excited to return to KNS. Lindsay is the mother of two young children.

Abby Johnson, Membership and Community Advancement Manager

Abby is so excited to join Sutton Place Synagogue as the Membership and Community Advancement Manager. For the past near three years, Abby has worked at Brooklyn Heights Synagogue as the Education Program Manager. Abby originally hails from Rochester, New York and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College where she studied English and women’s studies. Abby currently resides in Brooklyn near the Gowanus canal.
