The Sound of Music: The Truth Behind the Musical

It’s been 60 years since Rodgers and Hammerstein turned the story of the Von Trapp Family in to one of the most beloved musicals of all time. But many fascinating truths were left out. Musical theatre historian John Kenrick pulls back the curtain and tells the story of who the real disciplinarian was, how the family really escaped the Nazis, and how the children struggled to break free as adults. A delightful and surprising look at the facts that inspired a stage and screen classic.
