Tot Holidays

For families with children ages birth-6

We view our role at Sutton Place Synagogue as not only educating children, but entire families. To that end, we’ve developed a curriculum designed to promote the involvement of entire families, both in the classroom and through separate programming around holidays and festivals. This provides an opportunity for parents and their children to learn about and experience Judaism together, in a communal setting, with other families.

For our young families, we have holiday celebrations including Tot Sukkot, Tot Chanukah, and the Purim Carnival. These programs are designed for families with children under 6 in mind, and feature music, activities, stories, and art projects (among other things)!

Tot Sukkot: October 20

10 AM: Join us for singing, dancing, & crafts. Add your own special “touch” to our Sukkah! Complimentary for families with children under 6.

Tot Chanukah: December 15

10 AM-12 PM: Join us for a celebration filled with latkes, jelly donuts, and lots of Chanukah fun! Families with children under 6 are invited to enjoy celebrating Chanukah together.

Purim Carnival: March 8

Come one, come all, come dressed as your favorite characters!

10:45-11:30 AM: Carnival open for those with sensitive ears or those looking for a calmer carnival experience.

11:30 AM-1:30 PM: Carnival open to the entire community. During this time slot, we’ll also have a quiet room.
