USY/Kadima

USY (United Synagogue Youth) has been involving and educating Jewish teens across North America for decades, teaching them about life, friendship, religion and leadership while changing their lives forever. Kadima is the international youth organization for Jewish pre-teens, sponsored by the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.

Introducing Amanda Phillips
My name is Amanda Phillips and I will be serving as the 2016-2017 Hebrew High Educator and Kadima/USY Advisor. This past year, I taught the 7th grade, Kitah Zayin class and I’m beyond excited to continue working with the teens and youth at SPS!

As a former USYer and longtime Camp Ramah camper, I have also served as both a counselor and Group Leader at Ramah Darom and USY on Wheels where I have been fortunate to work with and learn from hundreds of teens. Originally from Sarasota, Florida, after graduating Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!), I moved to NYC and am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Jewish Education at The Jewish Theological Seminary.

As an SPS teenager, there are so many ways to get involved!

You can participate in our Teenager Shabbat on Saturday, May 13! More details to follow but mark your calendars now!

There will be USY and Kadima events throughout the year with chances to volunteer and socialize with other SPS teens AND other Manhattan teens through collaborative programs with other Conservative synagogues.
