Shabbat Shalom from Rabbi Ain – January 19, 2018

Shabbat Shalom! In this Torah portion, Bo, God sends the eighth and ninth plagues, locusts and darkness, but Pharaoh still refuses to free the Israelite slaves. God tells Moses that the 10th plague will be killing all the firstborn Egyptians. God commands each Israelite home to slaughter a lamb and spread the blood on their doorposts, in order to protect their firstborns. After the death of the firstborns, Pharaoh demands that the Israelites leave.
Kabalat Shabbat Services are at 6:15 pm and services tomorrow morning at 9:15 am Candle Lighting is at 4:40 pm.
Thought question: Why do you think the 9th plague was darkness? What message was that supposed to symbolize to the Egyptians?
Please note: This weekend’s MEN’S CLUB AFC Football event will NOT be taking place. However, SPS wishes our member, Lenny Wilf, one of the owners of the Minnesota Vikings good luck, as his team competes to be the first team to play the Superbowl in their own stadium!
We have a busy few weeks coming up with something for EVERYONE!
