Shabbat Shalom! In this Torah portion, Yitro, Moses tells his father-in-law, Jethro, about the miracle of the exodus. Jethro proclaims that the Israelite God is greater than all other gods, and he makes a sacrifice. Jethro then advises Moses to delegate leadership roles in order not to tire himself out. The Israelites camp at the bottom of Mount Sinai. After three days, the mountain fills with smoke, and God delivers the Ten Commandments to His people.
Friday night services begin at 6:15 this evening. Tomorrow morning Shabbat services are at 9:15 am. We will celebrate as Sam Weinick is called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah. There is Jr. Congregation at 10:30 am and Tot Shabbat at 11 am.
Tomorrow night is PJ Havdalah and Kadima/USY bowling. If you have any questions or are planning on attending but haven’t yet told Alyssa, please email her asap.
Candle lighting is at 4:47 pm.
