2020/5781 High Holidays

Welcome! We are so glad that you are interested in joining us for the High Holidays this year. Though we won’t be together in person you will be able to view the High Holiday services from our unique new website and you will also be able to click on additional links created to enhance your experience.  Our site was created exclusively for these High Holidays, to give you the most meaningful way to join in and also learn from the relevant offerings we’re including. It will be very simple to navigate through the live service, as well as additional pre-recorded videos, audio files, written texts and a virtual lobby/chat room. We have gathered inspirational readings and videos from local and national organizations, along with material from our talented clergy and educators at SPS.  Through this innovative website, we will be serving all members of our community – our adults, young professionals, teens, children, and families with young children.

Spiritual Preparation for the High Holidays begins with the onset of the Elul, the final month of the Jewish year. CLICK HERE to learn more about what we will be offering and be sure to get involved.

Selichot is the first service that will usher in the holiday season. CLICK HERE to see what we will be doing. We hope you will join us.

East Side “Shofar in the Streets”
In the coming weeks a schedule will be announced as to where you can hear the shofar sounded, outside, on Sunday September 20th at 4 pm. This will not replace the shofar service that will take place during the service.

It is traditional to do Tashlich during Rosh Hashanah but it can be done anytime between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. SPS will be providing readings and meditations for you to use for you to do tashlich on your own. Please check back here for updates.

Personal Time in front of the SPS Ark
All SPS Members are invited to schedule time to come in front of the ark to offer your own personal prayers. You will have a total of 5 minutes in front of the ark. Please check back here to look for a sign up page. Details about entering the building will be provided shortly.
