In these two memoirs, Persian-Jewish writers, Esther Amini and Parnaz Foroutan tell their stories. Amini grew up in Queens, New York with her parents, Iranian immigrants. Foroutan immigrated from Iran to Los Angeles. As they both explore the opposite coasts of America, they also explore identity, their roles within their family, and what it means to leave and find home.
