JCC Budapest Shabbat Event

JCC Budapest Shabbat Event

Friday, October 13

Joining us at services on Friday, October 13 is the JCC Budapest team, including Executive Director Marcell Kenesei, as they share the story of the rebuilding of Jewish life in Hungary and the work they continue to do to support Jews around the world. In addition, Marcell will share an update on their efforts to support the Ukrainian refugee crisis. The Jewish community of Hungary is estimated to number over 100,000 and the work of the JCC Budapest is critical in shaping the future of Jewish life in Central and Easter Europe. From supporting refugees to standing up for LGBTQ+ and other minority rights in Hungary, the JCC is at the forefront of Jewish values on display in Budapest. Today, more that 35,000 individuals are engaged by the JCC annually and, most importantly, the JCC Budapest is positioned to make an even greater impact going forward.
