Margins of the Siddur with Rabbi Ain during Friday night services

A siddur (prayer book) is a reflection of how we

can understand our relation to God and prayer as

well as the Jewish community and world over the

centuries. We are fortunate that the siddur we use

at SPS, Siddur Lev Shalem, includes not only the

traditional prayers in Hebrew and English but also

commentary-both ancient and modern, theological and poetic, to make the ideas of the siddur come to life for us. Rabbi Ain will share some of

her favorite “margin notes” and how they can

provide insight to our traditional service.
