Walking Tour of the Jewish Upper West Side

Walking Tour of the Jewish Upper West Side

Explore the unique and culturally rich history of the Jewish community on the Upper West Side. This neighborhood is a ‘powerhouse’ of shuls, schools, Jewish food and culture, with architecture that exemplifies Beaux Arts, Art Noveau, and Art Deco. Some of the many sites we will stop at will be Congregation Rodeph Sholom, Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, The Jewish Center, and the Society for the Advancement of Judaism (Judaism That Stands For All.)

We will discuss how this special community continues to shape the identity of American Jews to this day.  Led by urban historian Barry Judelman.

$26 per person, rain or shine. The tour will meet up at the JCC Manhattan, 334 Amsterdam Ave, at 76th Street, and last approximately 2 hours. It will be a great opportunity to meet other SPS BoCo members!

Please reserve your spot(s) in advance by emailing boco@spsnyc.org We still have a few spots available for anyone who would like to join! We welcome all ages!
