SPS goes to see Parade

Block Center on Broadway:

PARADE starring Ben Platt

Thursday, May 11, 7 PM

Leo and Lucille Frank are a newlywed Jewish couple struggling to make a life in the old red hills of Georgia. When Leo is accused of an unspeakable crime, it propels them into an unimaginable test of faith, humanity, justice, and devotion. Riveting and gloriously hopeful, PARADE reminds us that to love, we must truly see one another.

We invite everyone who attends the show with us or sees it on their own, to join us for a discussion of themes of Parade at the Shabbat Schmooze following services on Saturday, May 13.

Deepening Connections with Rabbi Dave

Deepening Connections with Rabbi Dave Levy

May 1st at 7:00pm, In-Person at SPS

What does it take to deepen your connection with someone in your community? How do you engage in a meaningful conversation with a new member? Using techniques pioneered by Hillel, Rabbi Dave Levy will lead an interactive workshop about the "art of engagement!" Following the workshop, Karina Tabicinic and I will facilitate a conversation to debrief what we learned and discuss how we can use our new skills to deepen our connections with one another. This event will take place in-person. RSVPs to Rebecca Cushman, rscushman92@gmail.com, are encouraged but not required.
